HOOSIER HORSE FAIR

Flack Farms, Inc. recently attended the Hoosier Horse Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana as an exhibitor of equine products. We had a booth set up with our various hay products available for horse enthusiasts to see, smell, and touch. We also unveiled our new chopped straw product (featured under our “Products” tab on the website) and showcased our 3 kinds of 100% pine shavings. Steve Flack was at the booth all 3 days, answering questions and explaining how the Steffen Bale Converter makes the compressed bales.

We received many positive comments about the chopped straw in particular, with customers noticing how soft and absorbent the straw was and how it was a great alternative to shavings and would be easy to pick through when cleaning stalls. In addition, most people had never seen compressed bales and were very curious about them, noting that you can maximize your storage space so much better with the compact bales and being surprised that they still weighed 45 pounds but were so small. Flack Farms, Inc. hopes to attend additional industry trade shows in 2016 so more people can become acquainted with our compressed products!

Steve Flack Featured Speaker at Adult Farmer’s Class

Steve was recently asked to speak to a gathering of farmers as part of a series of Purdue University’s Extension Adult Farmer Classes in Wabash, Indiana. Steve discussed how and why we got started in the hay business, how we market our products nationwide, and what led us to purchase and use the Steffen Bale Converter. There were several good questions and discussions about how to effectively manage and market hay acres, and Steve brought samples of our compressed bales to show. Many farmers in the audience had never seen or heard of compressed bales so it was an educational evening for all. The Farmer’s Exchange, a regional agricultural newspaper, reported on the event, and published an article that you can read in their March 20, 2015 edition.

Purdue Hay and Forage Day

Flack Farms Inc. was fortunate to be one of the featured farm stops on the 2013 Purdue University Hay and Forage Tour.  Producers, educators, and industry personnel watched a demonstration of the Steffen Bale Conversion System and were able to ask Steve several questions regarding the machine and our forage business.

As a result of our participation in the Purdue University Hay and Forage Tour, Flack Farms Inc. was featured in several recent farm publications, including the Indiana Prairie Farmer and Hay and Forage Magazine’s e-newsletter. Links to these articles are below:

New Office Building

As our business has expanded over the last few years, we now experience more visitors and customers to our facility.  We decided it was time to invest in an office adjacent to our bale cutting warehouse.  Steve and Lisa will each have offices in the building, along with a conference room for meeting with customers.

Please plan to visit us soon so we can discuss your forage needs in our new office!
